As I began my journey to transplant I had to do fundraising. My sister sent a letter out to the local Baptist Association and the funds started coming in. It covered our stay in Nashville for the months we were there.
As I am on fixed income and Medicare, and the state of Tennessee has terminated my TennCare with the budget cut backs, I have to do fundraising again to cover the trips that I have to make to the Transplant Clinic for checkups and to help with the 20% out of pocket that Medicare does not cover.
I have sold some of my crafts to help with the medical expenses and I have an account set up with my sister’s church for any donations that comes.
